I don't know about you, but whenever I'm out and about at client offsites, scouting out new printing paper at a press partner, or attending meetings in the city, I always dread lunchtime. I hate spending $15+ on lunch when I know my lunch at home would cost me under $5.

A group of fellow entrepreneurs is out to change that. Prepd Pack, a brand new take on the lunchbox has raised over $1,000,000 in 34 days. The Prepd team surpassed their original goal of $25,000 and are now over 4000% funded, attracting over 8,920 backers to their cause.

Taking lunch to work allows people to better control their diet, save money and reduce packaging waste, however it's a habit that many find difficult to sustain. The Prepd team is seeking to change this with the Prepd Pack, a new type of lunchbox and smart recipe app designed to streamline the entire process and provide a significantly better experience.

The Prepd Case features integrated magnetic cutlery, and an inbuilt silicone placemat to catch spills and crumbs, while the modular containers are made from a premium food safe material and can be put in the freezer or microwave. The containers are also entirely leak-proof to ensure they're safe for transporting lunch to work in your satchel or under arm. Buying multiple sets of containers enables users to batch cook for days in advance, a practice known as Meal Prep. Prepd is also offering an optional insulating neoprene sleeve add-on with a convenient carry strap and nesting cool packs.

The Prepd App allows users to browse ‘make at home’ recipes and meal plans created to fit the containers perfectly. The recipes – created by nutritionists and chefs – are designed to allow users to cook for multiple days quickly in one go, allowing users to prepare their weekly lunches in advance and keep on a healthy diet. The app also outputs customized shopping lists to remove the guesswork from deciding what and how much to purchase, reducing food waste in the process. The Prepd App automatically knows what you eat based upon the recipe that the user has cooked and uses this data to quantify what has been consumed automatically. This data is visualised in the app to give meaningful feedback about the user's diet. Integration with Health Kit centralises the information storing the user's health and fitness data in one place.
